Like any athlete training for a marathon, the writer insane enough to sign up for this monumental experiment (uuhhhhh, that’d be me….) needs the tools of her trade in clean working order, room and time enough to write to her heart’s content, and her particular eccentricities for summoning the muse near at hand. In case you’re gearing up for the festivities, check out this advice from one of this year’s participant’s, journalist Victoria Madrid, on prepping for the main event.
I’m not going to be able to do everything Victoria suggests before midnight tomorrow — and as I mentioned before, I’m not doing NaNoWriMo with the expectation that I’ll actually FINISH my novel within the next 30 days. But its sure nice to know I’m not alone in the NaNoWriMo universe, whether my desk is messy or not.
How do you get “your house in order” to tackle a big writing project?
